Hello fans of Jimmy Eat World.
On this upcoming 10th anniversary of Clarity tour, the song that is most talked about is "Goodbye Sky Harbor". So sign this petition and ask for the full 16 minutes not the 4 minute version.
Thanks from your friends at WashedUpEmo.com!
This is only 5 minutes! Not this JEW, we want ALLLLLLLLLL 16 of "Goodbye Sky Harbor"
Also, a video of "For Me This is Heaven" from 1998 in Orlando, FL. When Jim actually sang this song with heart.....ooooh burn. Figured out I saw this tour a few days before or after in Tallahassee, FL for $3!
Great video! Check out 3 minutes on... mad good.

What an awful idea. On their last tour, JEW played a 5-7 minute version and it was perfect.
Wow, on their last tour you say? Interesting. Sounds like you have seen the band once.
You are entitled to your opinion but since you only have the Bleed American and Futures album (thinking The Middle was on that album too), you are unaware that the song is officially 16 minutes long.
Thanks!
Um...that seems a little bit ignorant/arrogant of you to assume that this person only has Bleed American and Futures. Yeah, it would be cool to be able to say they played the whole 16-minute version, but at the same time, the length of that song is supposed to work for the album, but it certainly wasn't written that way for the sake of the live show.
And for the record, I own every Jimmy Eat World album, including their 1994 self-titled LP (because we seem to be competing here) and Clarity is my favorite by far. So it's not all that ridiculous to think that a legitimate and knowledgeable Jimmy Eat World fan would disagree with your idea. Get over yourself a little bit.
Hi Michael!
I assumed that Anonymous didn't know that JEW has been playing that song for a long time and to just say it's "an awful idea" tells me they have no idea what this song means to longtime fans of the band.
Secondly, but if they are playing the entire album front to back. It should include the full 16 minutes!
Wow, you have all the albums! Congrats. I am glad you are a fan of the band as well.
It doesn't matter how many you own, all of them or just Bleed American. If someone is going to say it's an awful idea and not realize how important Clarity is to fans of this band and of a genre of music, then I don't think they should of commented in the first place.
Music is music and I am fine with people explaining to me their side and if you read this blog, you will see that.

I'm a longtime fan of the band and have a pretty big archive of J.E.W stuff dating back to '94, and personally I think the full 16 minutes of Goodbye Sky Harbor would be ultimate overkill. You could fit a good 3 or 4 songs into the gap after the edited version would have finished. Tracks like 'Softer' and 'Roller Queen' from the same era.
Mark,
Great comment. I think it would be a great idea to have some songs from that same era played as an encore, etc.
do people actually listen to the whole 16 minutes? i mean i love the song, but i always turn it off once it degrades into the electronic shit. is it really important that they do that "live"? which they probably cant, so they would just be running tape. big whoop.
I would love to see the 16 minute version, but if I had my choice of that or softer and roller queen I would take those two. I don't think I have ever seen roller queen live. Ultimately I would like all 3. Its mos def not an awful idea to play the 16 min version. The set would still be shorter then the sub par sets they've been playing lately if anyone is concerned about time.
I love the full 16 minutes, don't get me wrong, but a 13 minute repetitive loop would be overkill on concert. They could make it 16 minutes, they would just need to jam a little bit.
I Really think that they need to play the full 16 minutes. The song in its entirety is amazing, it is a journey. I love complex vocal harmonies, and that song is the best I've ever heard. I understand that at a normal concert it may be overkill to play a 16 minute song, but at a special concert such as this where the whole point is to hear an album played live, I think that we deserve the full song.
