On the latest episode, I chat with Norman Brannon from Texas is the Reason. Fresh off the Revelation 25 shows, we discuss the NYC hardcore scene, shows with Mineral and Christie Front Drive and how a Warzone tattoo connected bands before the days of cell phones. We also looked to Norman's future endeavors and the band into 2013.

Loved this, I listened to it like a kid in the 50s listening to a radio show before dinner.
I liked the comment about the untraditional route Norm has taken with his life, and likening it to the structure of a TITR song. I'm glad it's been a rewarding journey regardless of its challenges. He's done some amazing things with his life.
I also love the notion that their 2nd LP would have been called "It is happening again." It wasn't long after TITR broke up that I first heard DJ Shadow's "Endtroducing..." And while stylistically it's different than what TITR was doing, it seemed to fill a gap left by TITR's new absence. That TITR used the Twin Peaks video image to promote their 2012 resurrection, the same audio sample that Shadow used back in '96, links the two even further for me.
